With detailed, informative instructions for capturing personable and memorable yearbook photos, this reference presents step-by-step demonstrations on advertising, talking to clients, producing outstanding images, and finalizing a sale. Noting the delicate balance of pleasing parents and teens alike, this resource illustrates how to marry the latest fashion-oriented photography trends with the needs of the family member who is paying for the session. A wealth of lighting and posing techniques combine with tips for analyzing the subject, choosing which features to accent and which to downplay, and creating alluring, fashionable looks that the whole family can appreciate. Summary: "Good business advice, boring sample images"
When I look at 'how-to' training materials for photography, my primary interest is the quality of the images produced by the author. Seems reasonable to assume is that the point of books, DVDs, classes, etc. is for the teacher to show us how to do what they do. In this case, Smith's images are competent but repetitive and boring; not a combination to which I aspire. If you doubt this, look at this page that summarizes Amazon's inventory of his books:

Do you see a certain similarity in the covers?
(BTW, if you know how to create hyperlinks in reviews, please advise. I tried a number of approaches and none worked.)
That said, the business advice is specific to the senior market and presented clearly. I checked the book out from our local library and while I appreciate the text, I certainly wouldn't buy the book for future reference or inspiration.

Summary: "Not what I was looking for"
Not what I was looking for. I do not need studio setting -- I need outdoor setting of senior photography and help with posing. This was hardly touched on.
Shipping was excellent and the book was in excellent condition. That is why I give it 5 stars.

Summary: "Senior Photography"
I am a photographer that photographs high school seniors and I use Jeff Books as my guide for my senior business. I own many books on senior high school photography but this one tops the list. Best book I've read on how to do and what to do.
